8th Grader donates time and talent over her summer vacation

(ORLAND HILLS) – This summer, while many children were sleeping late and otherwise relaxing on their 10-week break from school, Karli Olszowka, an 8th grade student at Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School, used her time and enterprising talents to collect school supplies for the Angels R Watching Foundation.

Karli created fliers and delivered them throughout her Homer Glen neighborhood. She asked each of her neighbors to donate one or two school supplies for underprivileged children and ultimately received over 450 items. Karli then made arrangements with Respond Now, a United Way agency that provides emergency assistance to local families, to receive the supplies. Liz Wiznasky, Chairperson of Respond Now, gratefully accepted them.

Angels R Watching Foundation is based in Mokena, IL. For more information, contact Ms.Teri Cardamone-Shake, Executive Director at 708.995.5432 or tshake@angelsrwatching.org.
